Versatile and simple to use Air Splints are used to immobilize arm and leg fractures, with uniform pressure on the limb, and to guarantee stability and comfort for the patient. A unique characteristic of these inflatable splints is the zipper. Made on a flexible, plastic support which allows for HFW onto a PVC sheet; this process of production gives the splint a strong and long-lasting hold. The exclusive Spencer Contour head immobilizer has been studied to assure the optimum head immobilization of traumatised patients. If used in combination with a spine board and a rigid cervical collar, it enables the transportation of a patient in critical condition during long or uncomfortable
journeys. A good fixation of the head also gives the rescuers the possibility to take more time to give extra care to the patient in a secure condition for the cervical tract. The exclusive form of the head immobilizer has been designed by rescue experts and has been tested on the road. This form physiologically supports the brain case, avoiding as much as possible further compression of the cranium and completing the immobilization of the rachis supplied by the cervical collar. Spencer Contour head immobilizer is composed of two mono blocks, made of a soft plastic material and a base
with belts to fix to various kinds of stretchers. The two shells are positioned with a very resistant Velcro® fixation system on the purpose made base, which is fixed onto any type of spine board with the belts provided or by using the Velcro® system. Holes have been made inside the two shells,
which allow the inspection of the aural pavilions, permitting the verification of any loss of blood or liquids. Moreover, the holes generously accommodate the aural pavilions, allowing the rescuers to communicate with the patient. A new system of moulding has allowed a shell without solution of continuity and with a considerable thickness of the protective film, which guarantees a long duration. The base can be used to fix two mono blocks for adult and paediatric patients, thanks to an additional cushion that can be removed. The material used for the production of the shell is impermeable and avoids the absorption of organic liquids (blood, vomit, mucous). It cannot be damaged by chemical substances or solvents, cannot be modified by physical agents and stays soft even when the temperature varies. It can be easily cleaned and is X-ray compatible.
The Spencer Shell Universal Basket Stretcher, has been studied to confront the most difficult of emergency situations. It is ideal for rescue operations in mines, at altitude and in water. Thanks to its robust form, resistance and flexibility of use, it is indispensable anytime that a reliable and safe stretcher is needed. A revolutionary technique has been used in its realization which ensures uniform thickness of the entire length of the stretcher. The shell is in high-density polyethylene and is joined to an aluminium framework that aims to consolidate its strength. The handles for transport, which are part of the structure itself, are placed along the entire perimeter. The grommets for the fixing of the spring catches of the harnessing are in stainless steel. Inside the shell there is a removable mattress, applied with Velcro®, made in closed-cell EPDM, which makes it impermeable to both blood and water. The use of high-density polyethylene for this shell guarantees not only that it is shatterproof but also an exceptional sanitization. The Spencer Shell can contain a spine board.
The use of high density polyethylene moulded with this technology, gives a consistency to the thickness that is much higher than that achieved with other forms of moulding; the advantages are evident in the corners, curves and on the base, exactly where the other bodies prove to be more fragile. The body is resistant to damage and corrosion and has been joined to an aluminium framework
to guarantee a demanding use and safe transportability in helicopters.The tapered form allows it to take all the Spencer spine boards, thus avoiding any annoying movements of the board itself.
The moulding technology used for this shell offers consistency and uniformity of thickness, the resistance to damage and corrosion much higher than that attained

The EMSoft splints are made of coupled vinyl with an ultrasonic welding process. They are easy and fast to model. They can also be used for exposed fractures. The standard version has Velcro® closure straps. X-rays can be performed without removing the splints.
